In Person at the Arizona History Museum

The Arizona History Convention, Inc., invites proposals for poster presentations for the 2026 Arizona History Convention. We welcome proposals on any topic related to Arizona or southwestern borderlands history.

Please note that submitting a poster proposal for the 2026 Arizona History Convention verifies each presenter’s commitment to attend and register for the conference should their presentation be selected for the program.  

All posters submitted by individuals and non-profit organizations accepted for the conference are eligible for the new Best Poster award. 

Posters are limited to the standard size of 36” x 48”. AHC will provide foam boards and easels to display the posters. 

We encourage all poster presenters to use the breaks between sessions to discuss their posters with attendees. 

All poster presenters are required to attend the conference and discuss their poster during session breaks. Make sure your discussion clearly and concisely reflects your topic’s arguments because you will be judged on that as well.

All posters should include the title and name of the presenter. The Arizona History Convention currently does not accept AI-generated materials.

Be sure your photos, drawings, and/or maps are relevant to the topic. We are looking for clear and concise descriptions, hypotheses, and summaries, as well as historical accuracy. Please use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 

Judging: Your judges will be your peers attending the conference.Each conference attendee will be given one ballot to vote for their favorite poster based on the above criteria. Votes will be tabulated following the break after the third session, and the winner will be announced at the conclusion of the conference. 

The deadline for all poster submissions is September 20, 2026. All posters will be judged by conference attendees for their clarity, research, to be awarded at the close of the convention on Saturday, September 26.
